WhatsApp Launches Channels Globally

Meta has launched the Channels feature on WhatsApp and made it available in over 150 countries, giving it global coverage to reach the largest number of users.

Channels allow users to easily and reliably receive important updates from businesses or content creators. They are a one-way tool that only allows administrators to send text, images, videos, surveys, and stickers to subscribers. This makes them a useful tool for building communities for businesses and content creators.

In addition to this feature, Meta has added some new functions to WhatsApp, such as the ability to filter channels based on the user’s location and country. This is to help users find new, active, and popular channels. Administrators can also edit posts for up to 30 days after they are published.

It is worth noting that this feature was tested in 10 countries before Meta started expanding to other countries.
